The Hong Kong Importers’ & Exporters’ Association (HKCIEA) promotes economic ties for members and worldwide. Malaysia as a member state of ASEAN has enormous business opportunities of its diversified consumer markets and high consuming power. Hence, HKCIEA conducted a delegation namely “Young Entrepreneurs Delegation to Malaysia” on 9 – 11 September, 2019, inviting Mr C Y Leung, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference as delegation honorary leader, Mr Lam Lung On, President of HKCIEA and Mr Chan King, Vice-President and Honorary Secretary as advisor, Mr Edmond Li, Executive Director and Chairman of Youth Affairs Committee as leader, Mr Andrew Chan and Ms Sally Yeung, Vice Honorary Secretary as vice leader and Mr Stanley Choi, Executive Director and Chairman of External and Communication Affairs Committee as secretary. By visiting local chambers, government departments and factories, we hope to understand the investment environment, strengthen connections and take the chance to promote development for both places.

 

The delegation schedule is compact, including visiting the local factory of Xinyi Hong Kong, Malaysian Investment Development Authority, Ministry of Housing and Local Government and The Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, meeting with Menteris Besar of Selangor and Mr Bai Tian, Ambassador to Malaysia. The delegation aims to understand the latest development of Malaysia and its investment advantage and to seek business opportunities for both Hong Kong and Malaysia.

 

Mr C Y Leung claimed in multiple seminars that Hong Kong is one of the top ten developed financial cities in the world, Hong Kong business development should not be limited to single area but diversified. Besides, Hong Kong has been a free entrepot without collecting tax, resulting satisfactory GDP growth rate. He believed if other countries would adopt free trade economic system could lead to considerable economic development.

 

The delegation comprises vice leader Mr Lee Shing Put, BBS, Mr Andrew Chan, Ms Sally Yeung, secretary Mr Stanley Choi, members Dr Jimmy Wong, Mr Chan Hon Hung, Mr Michael Li, Mr Ivan Fok, Ms Joanna Chan, Mr Ricky Au Young, Mr Ivan Wong, Mr Tony Chiu, Mr Chiu Yu Kui, Mr Anson Or, Ms Iris Leung, Mr Daniel Chan, Mr Kingsley Fong and other HKCIEA members totally 26 people.
